Another challenge that business organizations usually confront is the corporate philanthropic efforts where organizations allocate a portion of its revenue or profit for social uplifting projects. However, this issue is contested a lot and perhaps this is the reason that most of the organizations have a very lesser allocation in this area (Johnson et al., 2008). Executives responsible for the CSR within organization may be confronted with hard criticism that they are depleting precious resources of the organization and reducing the shareholder's wealth. However, the fact is that the philanthropic efforts should be regarded as investment in the community that return in the form of better brand equity and image within a particular market, although its impact in short-run could not be ascertain (Letza et al., 2004).
In order to overcome these challenges, different strategies are proposed that could be grouped into regulatory, organizational, stakeholders and individual level arrangements that could help in the eradication of the challenges and accomplishment of the CSR objectives. First governments as well as non-governments organization need to work out a standards CSR strategy where a global CSR strategy could be chalked out that are implemented in different parts of the world. Although the UN global compact is present in different parts of the world, the policy still suffers from the implementation point of view (Parrett, 2004). In addition, there should be proper control procedure in terms of regulations chalked out and different governments should ensure that the regulations chalked out are actually implemented within organizations.
